Who is Who
SHAPE aims to create a greener border region by bringing together German and Dutch partners to develop and implement innovative solutions to promote soil health, which will contribute to sustainable agriculture and environmental protection in the long term. The project, whose kick-off event took place on July 23, 2024 (see photo), runs until August 30, 2027, and has a total budget of €3,838,997.40 . The Interreg funding amounts to €2,247,698.25 and is co-financed by the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Protection and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, the Ministry of Economic Affairs, and the Province of Gelderland . The consortium’s own contribution is €1,591,299.15.
All partner companies are located in Gelderland or North Rhine-Westphalia. The participating SMEs include RheWaTech – Rhine-Waal Institute of Technology (Grieth), Hubert Reyers Agricultural Company (Kleve), RF-Frontend GmbH (Kamp-Lintfort), Rheinland Technologie GmbH (Kalkar), Gröger Engineering Office (Willich), Royal Eijkelkamp BV (Giesbeek), HAL24K Agri BV (Giesbeek), Nieuwenhuis-Wezendonk (Loil), and KnowH2O (Berg en Dal). Rhine-Waal University of Applied Sciences from Kleve completes the consortium.

HSRW
Florian´s research focuses on improving nutrient and carbon use efficiency of food systems. He aims to quantify nutrient flows at different scales from the plant-soil-microbe interface to the regional scale in order to assess management and abiotic stress effects on soil organic matter accumulation and nutrient provision to plants.
Zhyldyz´s research aims to investigate the interactions between soil properties, plant characteristics, and environmental factors in forest ecosystems. Specifically, she is interested in understanding how climate change impacts soil microbial communities, nutrient cycling, plant physiology, and fruit quality.
Nadja’s research explores the impacts of diverse agricultural management practices on soil health, with a focus on soil organisms and nutrient cycling. Her work examines the relationships between farming methods, soil biological communities, and the ecological processes that sustain fertile, resilient soils.
